A New Zealand registered limited liability company; Certificate of Incorporation dated July 1974. This is the trading vehicle for Peter Norton Dip. Arch. under which my design contracts are let.

Early career experience included work on airport buildings (New Zealand), university projects (Richard Sheppard, Robson & Partners, London), factory and commercial buildings (Siemens AG, Munich) and office and hospital buildings for large Auckland practices. Work in Germany and travel throughout Scandinavia taught me firstly how to communicate the structure of a building through drawings to the builder (German influence) and secondly how to design them.

Alvar Aalto (whom I met) had the greatest influence on my work. Scandinavian architecture and design...'Louisiana' museum of modern art (North Denmark) ...Dipoli (Finland)...I.M. Pei (Louvre, Museum of Rock and Roll).
